Day of honoring participants in hostilities on the territory of other states
15 February 2025

Today, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Honoring Participants in Hostilities on the Territory of Other States.
Every year, on February 15, Ukrainians celebrate this day as a day of remembrance for those who performed their military duty in armed conflicts in other countries.
This date is associated with the day of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan in 1989. The terrible war in Afghanistan lasted 10 years and took many lives.
The Soviet leadership sent 160 thousand Ukrainians to that war, more than 3 thousand of whom died.
We thank the Afghan veterans who have defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers since 2014.
We honor the memory of those Ukrainians who died while performing their duty.
