May 6 - Infantry Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

Today, soldiers of mechanized, motorized infantry, mountain assault military units and subdivisions of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine celebrate their professional holiday.

Infantry Day is a relatively young holiday, introduced in 2019. It was on May 6, 1648, that the first victorious battle of Bohdan Khmelnytsky's Cossacks against the army of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth took place near Zhovty Vody.

Ukrainian infantrymen have been defending our land from the enemy since 2014.

During a full-scale invasion, together with other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they expelled the enemies from the Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv regions and occupied Kherson.
