Today, Ukraine marks three important and symbolic holidays

This special day unites our thousand-year history, spiritual roots, and the heroism and resilience of modern defenders.

Ukrainian Statehood Day is a holiday that reminds us of our deep roots and centuries-long struggle for freedom. As the Kobzar enjoined, we are building Ukraine into a great nation of free and prosperous people. We honor the cherished memory of all who fell for independence and thank every single person defending us today.

The Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus–Ukraine serves as a touchstone for our spiritual and cultural identity. Back in 988, Prince Volodymyr of Kyiv charted the European path of development for our state—a course we are still courageously fighting to uphold today.

Ukrainian Peacekeepers Day is a day to honor and express gratitude to the service members who have safeguarded global peace and security as part of peacekeeping missions, demonstrating the high level of professionalism and courage of the Ukrainian military
